Leisa B. Lawson focuses her practice on defense of civil litigation, with a particular emphasis on defending employers and insurers in discrimination, personal injury, product liability and casualty claims.  Leisa also represents employers in compliance matters, helping them to be proactive in preventing claims.

Representative Matters
  • Represents private and public employers in a wide range of discrimination claims, including but not limited to the following: age, race, sexual harassment, national origin, disability, family and medical leave, and gender claims under Title VII, the ADA, and parallel state law claims.
  • Represents public and private employers in various compliance issues, including drafting and implementing employment agreements and personnel policies.
  • Represents employers in administrative proceedings, including civil service and unemployment hearings.
  • Litigates in the area of personal injury defense, representing insurers and school boards in casualty, product liability, and premises liability claims.
  • Successfully represented public employer in an alcohol testing claim arising out of the Americans with Disabilities Act. On appeal, the Fifth Circuit Court affirmed the district court’s summary judgment.
  • Successfully represented clients in numerous charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in which the charges were subsequently dismissed.
