Rundell and LaFleur successfully defend engineer and engineering firm in jury trial

January 20, 2011

Edward E. Rundell and Stephen A. LaFleur obtained a jury verdict in favor of a local engineer and his engineering firm following a jury trial that involved a number of complex technical issues and elicited opinions of a number of expert witnesses.  Plaintiff, a municipality, alleged that the defendant breached contractual and professional obligations in designing major modifications to its water system.

After deliberating some twenty-five minutes, the jury unanimously concluded the defendants had not breached any duties to the municipality.  Judgment dismissing all claims was entered, and the plaintiff's motion for new trial was denied.
