Weems Named Louisianas Distinguished Attorney

The Louisiana Bar Foundation introduced Charles S. Weems, III of Alexandria as the Distinguished Attorney of the year at its Annual Fellows Gala held in New Orleans on April 9, 2010.  The award is given annually by the Bar Foundation to a Louisiana attorney who by his career accomplishments and professional activities, has distinguished himself and has brought credit and honor to the legal profession.

Weems heads the Alexandria law firm, Gold, Weems, Bruser, Sues and Rundell, and is the former Chairman of the LSU Board of Supervisors and a past President of the Louisiana State Bar Association.  He currently serves as President of the Louisiana State Law Institute and as Chairman of the England Authority.

The Louisiana Bar Foundation also recognizes annually the Distinguished Jurist and Distinguished Professor of the year.  United States District Judges Frank Polozola and Ralph Tyson were recognized jointly for the jurist award, and LSU Law Professor Lucy McGough was given the Distinguished Professor award.
