Sam N. Poole, Jr. joined Gold Weems in 1983, after receiving his undergraduate degree in 1976 from Louisiana Tech University and his J.D. from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1979.  While in law school, he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review.
Sam’s practice consists primarily of personal injury defense litigation in product liability, workers’ compensation, and general liability cases.  His clients include businesses, employers, manufacturers, insurers, and governmental entities.  He has also represented clients in constitutional tort matters, employment disputes, and premises liability cases.  His experience includes numerous bench and jury trials, motions practice, and mediation.  Sam is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, in the Western and Middle Federal District Courts of Louisiana, and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Representative Matters
  • Practices primarily in the area of personal injury defense litigation representing employers and insurers in product liability, premises liability and workers compensation claims.
  • Other areas of practice include employer and public entity defense of sexual harassment claims, age and disability discrimination claims and, as to public entities, constitutional tort and Title II disability discrimination claims.
