Joshua J. Dara, Jr. focuses his practice in areas of employment and labor compliance and litigation; insurance coverage & defense; municipal law and civil rights defense; business litigation and criminal defense. Joshua has extensive experience representing clients in all phases of litigation - pre litigation, trial and appellate matters.

Joshua received his B.S. in Finance in 2010 from Louisiana State University and his J.D./G.D.C.L. in 2014 from Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University. During law school, Joshua was a member of the Christian Legal Society and Black Law Students Associations. He was also recognized among his colleagues for "demonstrating outstanding advocacy skills" in LSU’s NITA Trial Advocacy Program.

Representative Matters
  • Routinely advises businesses and public employers in day-to-day employment-related compliance matters, including terminations, investigations into employee misconduct, supervisor training, and personnel polices.
  • Represents various municipalities in contract negotiations with unions.
  • Successfully represents public entities in civil rights matters and personal injury litigation, including road hazard cases, trip and falls, etc.
  • Successfully defended clients against multiple charges filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, with the charges subsequently dismissed.
  • Successfully represented public employers in civil service  and other administrative hearings and appeals.
  • Successfully defended private and public employers in discrimination claims, including age, race, sexual harassment, disability, family and medical leave, and gender claims under Title VII, the ADA.
