Maggie L. Maddox ("Maggie") focuses her practice on civil and commercial litigation, appeals, and corporate and business matters, including mergers and acquisitions. She represents businesses, insurers, and individuals in Louisiana state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
Maggie came to the firm from the chambers of Chief Judge Terry A. Doughty of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, where she served as a term law clerk after externing in the same chambers during law school. In that role, she researched and drafted rulings in a wide range of civil and criminal matters and prepared cases for trial. She first joined Gold Weems as a law clerk in 2023 and worked with the firm throughout law school. A Central Louisiana native, Maggie began her legal career close to home as an intern with the Grant Parish District Attorney's Office before law school.
Maggie earned her Juris Doctor,
cum laude, from Mississippi College School of Law in 2025, where she served as President of the Civil Law Society and External Vice Chair of the Moot Court Board. She was named National Champion of the 2025 John Costello Criminal Trial Advocacy Competition and inducted into the Order of Barristers. Adopted herself, she also represented adoptive families as a limited practice attorney in the school's Adoption Clinic, and she hopes one day to help another family complete an adoption of its own.
