Senior associate, Joseph H. L. Perez-Montes, recently participated in a panel discussion on the "Business of the Legal Profession: Collegiality vs. Efficiency - Are we a family, a business or all of the above?" The panel presented before more than fifty judges and lawyers at the Louisiana State Bar Association Summer School on June 8, 2015 in San Destin, Florida.
The distinguished panel included Chief Judge Dee D. Drell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. Panel members discussed issues affecting employers, including how and when to terminate relationships with long-term staff, the ethics of monitoring staff in the computer age, and recent developments in the Family Medical Leave Act.
Perez-Montes is a member of the Gold Weems Employment and Labor group. He regularly assists employers in navigating employment issues to minimize their litigation risk.
